OUR PEOPLE

Trent Alexander

Founder and CEO

In 1654, scientist and philosopher Blaise Pascal wrote: “All of humanity’s problems stem from man’s inability to sit quietly in a room alone.”

“That quote is even truer today than it was in Pascal’s day”,   comments, Trent Alexander, who is the founder and CEO of Vision Voyage™. Building upon his love of the ocean, he created Vision Voyage™ for individuals who want to deepen their recovery and make a long-term change. Through his own journey of recovery, Trent recognized that stopping an addiction was only the first step towards recovery. He spent the first two years of sobriety in a 12-step program and realized that his deep emotional pain or “soul sickness” needed a cure. Yoga, meditation, spiritual studies and a Course in Miracles (ACIM) all became cornerstones of Trent’s recovery.  From these studies, Trent realized that change only comes from within and the ocean is a wonderful catalyst to help calm one’s mind and make a positive change. Vision Voyage™ was founded to help realize that it is about the journey, not the destination, toward a happy and fulfilling life.

Trent currently resides in Fort Lauderdale, FL.  Originally from the Pacific Northwest, and studied at Boise State University. Trent is an active community advocate and supporter of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County, FL, and is actively pursuing his professional captain’s license.

Erick Berman
Spirituality and Meditation Advisor

Erick’s passion for the 12-step model of recovery coupled with his extensive experience in a wide variety of spiritual modalities, suits our mission at Vision Voyage perfectly. Acting as a spirituality and meditation coach, Erick has been working privately with individuals and groups for over five years. The belief that the lasting solution for addictions comes from the “maintenance and growth of a spiritual awakening” is the fact that grounds him in this work.

His passion for teaching both mindful and vipassana meditation, coupled with a pure “non-dual” approach, makes Erick’s teaching style perfect for those looking to let go of old patterns and “set sail” to new perspectives on life. Erick has worked with a variety of populations in social service settings ranging from palliative care patients and their families, to adults with cognitive and physical disabilities.

When not sailing with Vision Voyage, Erick works at the PsychoNeuroPlasticity center at Origins Behavior Healthcare in West Palm Beach. Using various modalities from biofeedback to sensory deprivation serves to help rewire the addicted brain and create new neuro-pathways. Erick also continues to see clients privately.

Erick has been working directly with addicted populations since 2011.

In his personal life, Erick is an avid practitioner of Yoga, and is certified as a Reiki practitioner. He is also a student of A Course In Miracles and often draws elements from this rich and layered text throughout his practice.
